Lent Reflections - Journey to Easter
Connecting with the Weekly Sunday Scriptures
during Lent
God speaks to us in many ways, including through the Sunday Scripture readings. Each Lent, we have a new opportunity to be energized in our faith and grow closer to God. Deacon Dan has prepared a series of Lent Reflections to help guide us during the Season of Lent to help us to connect the Scripture to our daily lives in a more meaningful way.
Each Wednesday of Lent a new reflection will be posted. Click the pictures below to view the series.

Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross, which follow the path of Christ from Pontius Pilate's praetorium to Christ's tomb are a popular devotion during Lent. At each station we use our senses and our imagination to reflect prayerfully upon Jesus’ Suffering, Death, and Resurrection.
Stations of the Cross will take place on Friday evenings during Lent at 7:00 PM at St. Gerard Church.

Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration is the worship of the Eucharist outside of the Mass. The Eucharistic Host is displayed in a monstrance on the altar so that all can see and pray in the presence of Christ. We can show our adoration to God in many ways, but in the Eucharistic Adoration, we spend time adoring the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
Take time this Lent to experience the love, mercy and kindness of the Lord.
Eucharistic Adoration will take place every Friday after the 9:00AM Mass at St. John Church and close with Benediction at 12:00 noon.
“Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

Family Lenten Project
In El Salvador, there is a tradition of producing colorful crucifixes. The bright decorations have a figure of Jesus at the center and include images of the local community set in a Salvadoran landscape. They have become known as Romero crosses.
Families are invited to design a cross during Lent using the landscape and the colors that reflect the surroundings of their own family home.
Please share your design by sending it to ncunniff@cantoncatholic.org
On March 24, St. Oscar Romero's Feast Day, the Romero Crosses will be posted to the parish social media accounts.
