Faith Formation — Grades 1–6
Faith Formation in Grades 1–6 helps children build a strong foundation of faith as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and learn what it means to be part of our Catholic community.
Each year builds upon the one before it, helping children grow in their understanding of Scripture, prayer, the Mass, the sacraments, and the teachings of our Catholic faith. Through age-appropriate lessons, activities, and participation in parish life, children are encouraged to discover how faith is part of their everyday lives.
Grades 1 & 2 — Beginning the Journey
In the early years of Faith Formation, children are introduced more deeply to Jesus, prayer, Scripture, and the life of the Church. Both grades 1 and 2 include preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, celebrated within the parish community.
Grades 3–6 — Continuing to Grow
Following First Communion, children continue an important period of growth in their faith. These years help them develop a deeper understanding of the Bible, the Mass, the sacraments, Catholic beliefs and traditions, and what it means to follow Jesus in their daily lives.
Grades 3–6 are an essential part of the Faith Formation journey, providing the foundation children will carry with them as they move into Confirmation preparation beginning in Grade 7.
Growing in Faith Together
Parents are the primary teachers of faith for their children, and our parish is grateful to walk alongside families throughout these important years. By connecting what children learn in Faith Formation with prayer, Sunday Mass, and family life, we help them discover that faith is not simply something we learn—it is something we live.
Every year is part of the journey. Every year has a purpose.
God bless all of our students who received their First Holy Communion. Let us keep them in our prayers!
